First, the two names
VSF = VS Factory, the line this site publishes. VF = Victory Factory, a different operation. One letter separates them, they both build Rolex references, and they are regularly mixed up in search results, in forum posts and in conversations with sellers. If you have been told "VF" and assumed it meant "VSF", you are in the majority.
We are spelling it out because it is the first thing that goes wrong in this comparison — and because a buyer who ends up with the wrong line has not been scammed, exactly, but has not got what they meant to order either.
What the reports credit, and to whom
Everything in the next table is community or dealer reporting, not our measurement. The comparison it comes from was posted by a trusted dealer who sells both lines — which we note because it matters when you weigh it.
| Detail | Reported of Victory Factory (VF) | Reported of VS Factory |
|---|---|---|
| Crystal | Called much better than the older Clean crystal — clear enough that it is compared to an aftermarket deep crystal. | Has been the standard the others are measured against for years; a common refrain is that no crystal upgrade is needed. |
| Movement | Newest DD3285 with an updated rotor bearing — 27 balls, described as quieter in the hand. | Also the DD3285 family. Which week's build is quieter is not something either side has tested at scale. |
| Bezel insert (Pepsi) | Reported as the newest-updated insert, matching what the other large factories now use. | Well-regarded in the same thread; the disagreement is about the bezel lip and cut, not the colour. |
| Hands | Criticised in the replies — described as too sharp at the edges. | Cited in the same discussion as the better-finished of the two on this detail. |
| Date magnification | Flagged as sitting short of the original, roughly between 2.5× and 3×. | The old Clean was called obviously too large on the same measure — so this is an area where both sides get criticised in the same breath. |
| Rehaut and dial printing | Dial indices were called the better of the two by one member in the same thread. | Rehaut engraving and hands called better; the two members doing the comparing disagreed with each other on which way round this went. |
Two things stand out when you read the whole thread rather than the first post. First, the disagreement is not between factories — it is between two members looking at the same photographs and reaching different conclusions about hands, indices and rehaut. Second, the most useful reply in it is not a verdict at all: a member pointing out that the parts supply behind the large factories has converged, that most of it now comes out of the same place, and that the crystal is the one component where a real gap remains.
Which is a polite way of saying: this is no longer a comparison between two completely different watches.
What our own record shows
This part is ours, and you can check every number against the listings.
Our catalogue holds 14 GMT-Master references. Every one of them is recorded with the DD3285 movement — the same calibre family the VF reports describe. Prices are published on the page rather than quoted on request, and across the GMT line they run from $955 to $1,120.
What we do not do is rank, and what we do not claim is a comparison against a line we do not sell. We have never had a Victory Factory build and a VS Factory build on a bench next to each other, so any table we printed saying "ours is better at X" would be an advertisement wearing a lab coat.
Where this is heading
The pattern in this market is now familiar: a line stops, parts and suppliers continue, and one or more new operations emerge on top of that supply chain wearing a new name. Clean → Clean Plus is the documented case. VF's GMT family, built on Clean parts with a revised movement and crystal, looks like the same story in a different shape.
For a buyer, the practical consequence is that the factory on the listing matters less every year, and the individual watch you are shown before dispatch matters more. That is the variable you can control, and it is the one we put in front of you: the QC process is here, and every movement in our catalogue is mapped here.
Questions buyers ask about VSF vs VF
Straight answers, no filler.
Is Victory Factory the same as VS Factory?
No, and the one-letter difference is the single most confusing thing in this corner of the market. VS Factory is the line this site publishes, written VSF. Victory Factory is written VF. They are different operations, and a search for "vf" alone will not reliably bring you either.
Is Victory Factory connected to Clean?
Reported as yes, in the sense that matters commercially: a trusted-dealer comparison posted in December 2025 states that most of the parts VF uses for its new GMT Master II family are Clean Factory parts, with updates on some details. What nobody has established is whether that makes the complete watch equivalent to a Clean build — the same caveat the community applies to Clean Plus.
What movement does the VF GMT use?
The dealer report describes the newest DD3285 clone with an updated rotor bearing — 27 balls, quoted as quieter. That is the same calibre family recorded across our own GMT listings, which means the movement is no longer the divider between these lines that it once was.
Which is better for a GMT, VSF or VF?
The honest answer is that the community has only just started asking, and the comparison that exists was written by a dealer who sells both. What that comparison credits to VF is a clearer crystal and a better-drawn bezel insert, with criticism of the hands at the edges and date magnification that sits short of the original. What it credits to VSF is the crystal quality it already had and the fact that no upgrade is considered necessary. We have not measured either, so we are not calling it.
Do you sell Victory Factory?
No. We publish one line — VS Factory, 14 GMT references included — with the movement recorded per listing and the price printed on the page. If you are set on VF, we are not the right seller for you, and we would rather say that here than take an order we cannot fill as described.
Is the VSF GMT a safe pick if I cannot decide?
We are not going to answer that with a superlative we cannot back. What we can point at is the record: every GMT we list runs the DD3285, the price is published rather than quoted after an email, and the watch is photographed and filmed before it ships so you approve your unit rather than a stock photo.
